the heart of a poet

" . . . seek those which your own everyday life offers you; describe your sorrows and desires, passing thoughts, and the belief in some sort of beauty-- describe all these with a loving, quiet, humble sincerity. . ."

All right, I will now attempt to be serious. But perhaps I shouldn't. I'm a bit of a stuffed shirt at times, and I'm fully aware of it. Perhaps more so now than before. . . but that's just who I am. A trifle reserved, more than a little dreamy. . . but I that's a tangent I can explore later.

I wrote a songfic today based on Gorecki. I'm in love with that song. . . just because the lyrics are deeply sincere and filled with a gentle sort of longing.

If I should die this very moment,
I wouldn't fear,
For I've never known completeness
Like being here.
Wrapped in the warmth of you,
Loving every breath of you
Still my heart this moment,
Or it might burst . . .

The fic's not bad-- very cheesy in spots, but that's just me, I write fluff-- and if it weren't mine, I would say it's pretty good.

I'm off to edit a poem I wrote the other day. It's "not bad." ;)

Besides, my sister wants the laptop.

Not to sound shallow, but Hugh Jackman is freaking HOT! :)

There, I had to get that out. I just saw Kate and Leopold, and while that plot is admittedly stupid, it worked for me. Maybe it was the actors (no, not just him! really) or just the good romantic nonsense that was the rule. . .I enjoyed it. Very much. You have to understand, I'm a hopeless romantic. And to see a guy, even in a movie, who was courteous and romantic, sensitive and intelligent. . see, I don't hate guys, and I even like most of them. But well, most of the guys I know, are courteous and intelligent, but, er, lacking a bit in the other departments. And vice versa.

I was a puddle on the floor when he kissed her hand. I'm a sucker for the hand kisses. Well, most of the time. Both of the guys I've "dated" (for lack of a better term) started off with kissing my hand. Completely melted.

I haven't had an experience like that since I first saw Ewan McGregor sing. . . or saw Colin Firth give The Look in Pride and Prejudice.

I'll stop being a silly teenager now. :)

Hmm. Well, Jeffie and Big Brother showed up at my house about two hours ago w/ice cream and popsicles. We ate and talked for a while, and then it turned into a flirting frenzy. I got tickled, smacked, tackled, picked up, dragged, and well, it was just interesting. Why those two thought it was kosher to head over to a sick girl's house and attack her I'll never know, but let's be honest. It's those two. You can't explain it.

This is going to be a random thoughts board. I can tell already. Sigh. . . ah, well. Such is life.

I just thought of something worthwhile for me to do. Well, relatively worthwhile.
These are my people:

Teeka: One of my best friends. Stuck at home with a thousand and one illnesses. I love her to pieces because, well, she's just the sort of person you have to love.
Despina: My kindred twin. I love her to pieces as well.
Alise: Another best friend. She's my opposite but we get along for some really strange reason. She's my green half. ;)

The Glenwood Girls: My friends who are at college. Despina's one of them.

Toshie, Meg, and Manders: I know these really cute girls. . .

The Triumverate:
Jeffie: Probably my best guy friend. Love him to death. Purely Platonically, of Course! Very unique individual.
Big Brother: Another unique individual. I love him (PPoC) but sometimes I want to staple things to his head.
Zacman: The final leader in the trio of Jeffie, B.B., and himself.

Captain T: He would probably kill me if he knew I nicknamed him this. He's a good kid.

Celyn, Karita, Madi, and Hannah: The Moulin girls. I have to love them. They love Moulin Rouge and they're my fellow ficcers.

Sea, RMR, Miss Lav, Ilse, and all my other fellow forummers: From avonlea.org. We're all Fannes.

And there are more. . . but these are the important ones at the moment. :)

I'm also typing aimlessly. My blogger was not supposed to become this.

But I'm at home sick, and very bored. I wonder if Teeka's online. . .

I love Toshie. How could you not love her? She's adorable, sweet, warm-hearted, and pretty.

And don't you dare try to deny it.

I'm also a personality quiz binger.

Which My Little Pony Are You?

I'm a "true nature chick."

My voice may be off-key, but my heart knows how to sing.

My face may be plain, but my soul is not.

I may be a fool with my head in the clouds, but the view's great from up here.

There are a lot of things I don't know, but I know how to love.

People can try to hurt me and succeed, but in the end, only kindness matters.

I don't understand God, but I know He's there.

So HA! Take that, silly, lowering self-esteem.

And I have a CD burner now and Madison said he'd burn me the entire Moulin Rouge (yes, the movie on CD) for me. I'm excited because then I can have as many Moulin Rouge soundtracks as I want.

I'm a Moulin Rouge junkie. ::giggles and waves hand in air::
